Welcome, new AJRA rowers! And returning rowers-we’re glad you’re back!

Our Registration Meeting on Sunday was well attended. We now have 160 rowers on our Spring roster. It is going to be a great Spring season! Whether you’re new to AJRA or a veteran rower, you’ll want to review our AJRA Rowers Survival Guide. The guide contains lots of useful information and tips on practices and regattas and will answer many rower and parent questions. Check it out! Also, once registration closes, be on the lookout for an email which will be sent to all registered rowers/parents with the password to access the Members Only section of our website.

If you want to be part of AJRA’s exciting Spring Season, follow the Ronin link on the home page and get signed up now!  Registration for Varsity and Novice squads will remain open until Jan. 23 for returning rowers and until Jan. 30 for new athletes who attend our Open House the first week of practice.  However, the Weekday Developmental Squad filled up quickly, and registration is now closed.  Spots are still available for the Weekend D Squad.

Parents:  It is mandatory that a parent attend the Registration Meeting at Roswell River Landing on Sun., Jan. 23 — returning Varsity and Novice at 1 pm; new Varsity and Novice at 2:30 pm; and returning and new Developmental Squad at 4 pm.  Rowers do not have to attend unless they need to order uniforms, splash jackets or spirit wear.  Parents should make sure they bring the following:
–a completed hard copy of the parent release; fitness verification; medical information; and US Rowing 2011 waiver.  All forms are available by following the Ronin link.
–your calendar so you can sign up for your choice of volunteer assignments.  Parents who do not volunteer should be prepared to pay the $250 fee in lieu of volunteer service as this payment will be required at the registration meeting in order to register your rower.
–cash, check, VISA, or MasterCard to handle payment.  We cannot accept American Express or Discover and are only able to process credit card payments at the registration meeting.  After Jan. 23, all payments must be made by cash or check.  All checks should be made payable to AJRA.  If you have any questions about payment options, see the Registration page under the Getting Started tab.  Note that fees for all returning rowers must be current under one of the payment options outlined in order to attend Spring Season practice beginning Jan. 24.

All dates for regattas and spring events can be found on the Calendar under the  Events tab.  Varsity rowers:  Remember that practice is mandatory on Thurs., April 7-Sat., April 9 during Spring Break for Fulton and Cobb Counties.
