Don’t Miss Spring Parent Social this Sunday!
 
Our Spring Parent Social will be held Sunday, Feb. 23 from 6-9pm at Roswell River Landing.  If you are entering the popular Chili Cook-Off, bring your entry in a crock pot with an extension cord.  Coaches will select winners in Traditional, Non-Traditional, and Vegetarian categories.  Non-chili-making parents please bring an appetizer, salad or dessert to share.  This is a fun evening and a great chance to talk with coaches and meet other AJRA parents.

Save the Date: Parent Social is Feb. 23

Sunday, February 23rd is our Spring Parent Social. Due to popular demand, we are bringing back our Chili Cook-Off. A few years have gone by and the Coaches are now ready to sample everyone’s chili again. Traditional, Non-Traditional, and Vegetarian versions are requested. Since we can’t live on chili alone, non-chili-making parents please bring an appetizer, salad or dessert to share.
 

Please come to River Landing, 245 Azalea Drive, Roswell from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. In addition to sampling lots of great food, this is your chance to talk to the coaches one-on-one, to meet other rower’s parents, or have a night out by the river with old friends. It is great fun and we hope that you can join us!

While collegiate recruiting for rowing is still under way, six AJRA Varsity Women to date have signed letters of intent to be part of collegiate rowing programs next year:

Isabelle Babb (Westminster)–US Naval Academy

Zoe Canaras (Milton)– Brown University (coxswain)

Anna Ellis (Westminster)–University of Virginia

Annie Jachthuber (Westminster)–Ohio State University

Nicole Lane (Northview)–University of Alabama

Aja List (Chattahoochee)–University of Tennessee

AJRA Brings Home Team Points Hammer from Atlanta Erg Sprints

2014 erg sprints VM2014 erg sprints VWThanks to a full team performance, for the third year running AJRA brought home the golden hammer for the Junior Team Points trophy from the Atlanta Erg Sprints on Saturday, Feb. 1. With over 130 rowers and coxswains competing during the indoor regatta, AJRA rowers in all categories had strong performances, earning medals in six different events. All four competitive squads placed at least 6 of their rowers in the top 10 finishers in each event, showing the strength of our entire team.
