This past weekend, a select group of AJRA rowers traveled to Washington, DC to race in a tri-meet, against three scholastic programs. National Cathedral School (NCS), St. Alban’s School (STA), and Bethesda-Chevy Chase (BCC) all hosted AJRA rowers at the small regatta and provided tough competition for an exciting mid-season out-of-region race.
Both AJRA men’s and women’s Varsity and Second Varsity 8+’s were able to gain valuable experience at the regatta, coming home with two wins and several well-rowed races. The Women’s 2V 8+ and the Men’s Junior 4+ (rowed by stern 4 of the Men’s 2V 8+) both defeated their DC counterparts by open water, and provided the highlight on the day for AJRA.
