Wine and Dine at the Roswell River Landing for all parents. Once our rowers have gotten into their new routine of school, row, eat, sleep, REPEAT we like to get together and put some faces with the names. This is an opportunity for Parents of all rowers to get acquainted. Rowers are responsible for knowing what is going on and sometimes a little parent face time helps everyone get in the loop.
January is cold-but our rowers keep coming! Parents get together at this winter event to touch base and have some focused conversations-instead of just glimpses of each other at regattas. Everyone is assigned to bring a dish and enjoy AJRA food and hospitality!
Our rowers work so hard! We can’t believe the sacrifices they make – and it all leads up to the Southeast Regional Championship. We always send them off with a Pep Rally and picnic the night before. It’s an exciting time with lots of anticipation for the big race. We love having all the families come out and show their support for AJRA-and parents love hearing those “Coach” words of wisdom!
Parents are always amazed at our Awards Banquet – it is not to be missed! This is where everyone sees the rewards for their efforts. Seniors share their love for rowing and what it has meant to them, parents understand what their kids have accomplished, novice rowers are inspired to keep going, and captains get their turn too. This is a really special event that is enjoyed by all.
AJRA Varsity rowers are all encouraged to attend Crom, the team’s private crew prom. In 2011 the celebration was held at a private event facility. The 540 North venue made the night feel extra special. Our athletes are dedicated to the team, and also love to celebrate with the team. That is obvious from the good times had by all who choose to attend this spring event.
