Winter Conditioning

Keep Your Fitness Level Over the Winter!

AJRA offers returning Varsity and Novice rowers from Fall Season a chance to stay fit and improve strength and conditioning over the winter months.  Specific training opportunities for each squad are defined by the coaches as outlined below.  Training will include ergs, weights, circuits and running.  Sign up is limited so please do not sign up and take a space unless you can commit to regular attendance. Rowers who can’t attend Winter Conditioning should discuss alternate options with their coach.

There are two Winter Conditioning Sessions for the 2011-2012 school year:

Session 1 – November 28th – December 23rd

Session 2 – January 2nd – January 27th

Sign up for one or both sessions.  In order to complete your registration and reserve your space, all forms and online payment via the Ronin website must be submitted prior to the first day of your session.

Varsity Men- Training will take place at Just Fitness, Alpharetta location.  Schedule: Monday thru Friday 4:30 – 7:00.  No Saturdays. Session 1 and Session 2.  Fee: $100 per session.  Must fill out liability waiver for Just Fitness prior to first session!  Please note you will not be allowed to participate in training without completed registration, payment of fees and receipt of a signed waiver.  You will not receive a Just Fitness key tag prior to the start of Winter Conditioning session without the signed waiver, which is mandatory to enter Just Fitness.

Varsity Women- Training will take place at Just Fitness, Roswell location.   There will be two groups — the Power group will focus on cardio/power and the Technique group will focus on cardio/technique.  Ask Coach Elliot which group you should sign up for to get the most benefit.  Session 1 and Session 2.  Fee: $100 per session.  Must fill out liability waiver for Just Fitness prior to first session!  Please note you will not be allowed to participate in training without completed registration, payment of fees and receipt of a signed waiver.  You will not receive a Just Fitness key tag prior to the start of Winter Conditioning session without the signed waiver, which is mandatory to enter Just Fitness.

Power Group:  Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 4:30 – 7:00.   Saturday 9:30 – Noon.  (T, Th – YOYO)

Technique Group: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 4:30 – 7:00.  Saturday 1:00 – 3:00.  (W, F – YOYO)

Novice Men- Training will take place at the boathouse for Session 2 only.  Coaches ask Novice Men to cross train on their own during Session 1.  Session 2 schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 4:30 – 6:30.   Fee: $75.

Novice Women- Training will take place at the boathouse for both Session 1 and 2.  Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4:30 – 6:30.  Fee: $75 per session.

Online registration for AJRA Winter Conditioning programs is now open!  Returning Varsity and Novice rowers from Fall Season interested in signing up for Winter Conditioning should go to RONIN registration and complete the registration forms and pay the fee as soon as possible.  Sign up is limited.  Registration closes Thursday, November 17th at midnight.
