AJRA - Atlanta Junior Rowing Association

Team

Atlanta Junior Rowing Association is non-profit, parent-driven association devoted to promoting the Olympic sport of Rowing. AJRA welcomes North Atlanta 7th-12th graders to come out and learn about what it takes to be part of this competitive sport. Dedication and drive will determine an athlete’s ability to succeed in this organization – no experience is necessary to join.

Varsity

Varsity Men and Women are returning high school rowers.  After 2 seasons on Novice squads athletes are prepared for Varsity level competition. Varsity Men and Women practice 6 days a week.  Discipline is the key to success for AJRA athletes.

Varsity Captains are chosen each year based upon their leadership skills and rowing performance and dedication to the team.  It is an honor to be chosen for this position.

Novice

Novice Men and Women practice 5 days a week and consist of high school students who are new to rowing or have had experience through Developmental Squad. Novice athletes train hard and compete at home and at all regional regattas.

Developmental

Developmental Squad practices 3 days a week and is intended for middle school students to learn the basics of rowing while conditioning their bodies. The fall season will focus on land based training and general rowing knowledge. Spring season allows for some opportunity to row on the Chattahoochee River and get a taste for competition.
